British, French & Japanese modernisms; Transnationalism, politics of translation; Literature and empire; Literature and philosophy; Historicism, trauma, and memory
I am a native of suburban Philadelphia and a nomad of the Atlantic Northeast, now turned Midwesterner. I double-majored in English and French at Harvard (AB summa cum laude 2005), and followed that with a Masters in English modernism at Oxford, Magdalen College. After several stints in the publishing industry, including textbook rebinds at Pearson Education, academic marketing at Other Press, and fact-checking at the New Yorker, I have returned to school to pursue my PhD in English. I am interested in the temporal and spatial coordinates of global modernism over the long twentieth century.
