Frances Pool-Crane is a PhD student in English at the University of Chicago. She is interested in media theory, portraiture, and art made by those deemed or self-categorized as outsiders, particularly across twentieth-century media. Her recent work has explored these ideas alongside lesbian modernism, punk subculture, and digital self-portraiture.
