Bio

Noa Stolzenberg-Myers is a doctoral student in the English Department at the University of Chicago. Her research interests include eighteenth-century literature and culture; poetry and poetics; children's literature; the rise of mass education; feminist epistemology; and psychoanalysis. She is especially interested in poetry and poetic prose from the eighteenth century as sites in which readers were first taught to perceive, engage with, and overlook their environs, and also in thinking about the various ways in which “backgrounds” and “foregrounds” are formed and performed in poetry from this period.
